Everyone, well, I should say most of us would state that one of our main goals in life is to be happy. But, to many, it seems so unattainable; so far-fetched. Of course, many would state that in order for them to achieve true happiness is to find the love of their lives, to have children, to be financially secured, or to acquire material possessions in the form of real estates, precious jewelry, stocks and bonds and others.
It is good to be financially secured in order to purchase material possessions, vacations, etc. However, the glee is short-lived if you thought same would bring you happiness. There is always a craving for more. It’s as if you’re placing things in a bottom-less pit. You can never be filled because the hunger becomes perpetual.
You see, happiness is a state of being. It has nothing to do with the outer. Despite the deficiencies in certain areas of one’s life, one is able to reach that spiritual realm where mind and emotional state are in agreement. This spiritual state provides peace. Therefore, one will live in a state of gratitude.
It’s so vital that we intentionally allow ourselves to be happy. There’s no need to rely and place pressure on loved ones to make us happy because they cannot. You would just be wasting your time because no one can make the other happy. Happiness costs nothing. It is a state of mind. All you have to do is make a deliberate effort to allow yourself to be happy every chance you get throughout a day. We can all make an effort to tap into our happiness mode because it’s free and within reach.
